Birmingham Airport Authority Board Elects Officers

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (October 1, 2021) – At its monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, the Birmingham Airport Authority (BAA) Board of Directors elected new officers for 2021-2022. Ms. Darlene Wilson has been elected Chair of the Birmingham Airport Authority Board for the next year.

“I am honored for this opportunity to serve as Chair for the next year”, said Darlene Wilson, Chair of the Birmingham Airport Authority Board of Directors. “I am excited to see the airport continue to recover and grow in the post pandemic era.  With the support from my fellow Board members, we will help elevate the airport to new heights.  In 2022 our city will serve as the Host of the World Games and I look forward to the airport playing a crucial role in Welcoming the World to Birmingham. ”

The Board also elected David Germany Vice Chair, R. Ashby Pate Secretary, and Christopher Johnson Treasurer.  Committees were also appointed with Bill Smith serving as chair for the Business Development and PR committee, Christopher Johnson serving as chair for the Audit and Finance committee, David Germany serving as chair for the Human Resources committee, Bobbie Knight serving as the committee chair for the Economic Development and Capital Projects committee.
