BAA to Host its Business Travel Advisory Group Meeting
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (August 18, 2021) – The Birmingham Airport Authority is hosting a business travel advisory group meeting on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with air service consultant Joseph Pickering of Mead & Hunt to provide a forum for travelers from the business community for candid conversation concerning travel readiness, as well as a discussion of the state of the aviation industry as the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport navigates the air service impacts of COVID-19. This meeting will provide a unique opportunity to understand what Birmingham companies are thinking about post-pandemic business travel recovery.
“Over the past months, we have seen a positive trend with a steady increase in leisure travelers, however, while leisure travel has rebounded, business travel lags behind,” said Ronald F. Mathieu, Birmingham Airport Authority President and CEO. “Our hope with this meeting is to assess the travel readiness of Birmingham-area business travelers and hear first-hand their thoughts, concerns, and plans for resuming corporate travel as this feedback is valuable in our talks with our airline partners.”
During the meeting, Joseph Pickering of Mead & Hunt will share updates on the aviation industry and Birmingham’s current air service demands and passenger traffic. Lunch and a special behind-the-scenes tour will be provided. Space is limited and advanced registration is required.
Who should attend:
- Frequent Business Travelers
