National Championship travel tips from BHM

 

Birmingham, Al – University of Alabama fans from across the state will be coming through the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport this weekend as they head to the National Championship Game in Glendale, AZ starting on Friday, January 8th through Tuesday January 12th.
Here are a few travel tips from the Birmingham Airport Authority if you are traveling this weekend.
• Remember to check your flight status with your air carrier or tour operator.
• Arrive at least 2 hours prior to your flight to check in at the ticket counter.
• Get in line at the TSA checkpoint for screening at least 90 minutes prior to your flight.
• Be at your gate at least 1 hour before your departure.
The Birmingham Airport Authority has quite the experience planned for everyone flying out of BHM this weekend. Fliers will have live music and touches of crimson throughout the terminal.

Part of the experience at BHM includes a variety of food and retail choices in the terminal. Food choices include hometown favorites like Good People Brewing Company and Jim N Nicks and national favorites Chick Fil A and Starbucks Coffee. Passengers can also pick up their last minute Alabama gear at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame store located on Concourse C or at any of the retail spot in the airport.
