Marketing Specialist
Provides marketing and administrative support to the Manger of Public Relations & Marketing by assisting with the development and creation of promotional materials that highlights the Airport's activities and Community Relations programs in a professional and positive manner. Also provides assistance by working on special projects as the need arises.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree or at least two years administrative support experience in a public relations or marketing division, must have a valid Alabama driver's license, must be proficient with Microsoft office and graphic art software, ability to handle multiple details and projects simultaneously, demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, provide courteous, tact and professional customer service when dealing with the public, tenants, customers, and community.
Essential Tasks
- Assists in the development (i.e. writes, designs, and produces materials as required) and manages production and delivery of publications including brochures, flyers, posters, direct mail promotions, and other marketing support materials
- Assists in the development and maintenance of a comprehensive list of press, media, and community communication mediums
- Assist in the development and preparation of a variety of special events, meetings, and activities by doing the following:
- Planning, coordinating with caterers, etc.
- Planning the logistics schedule & delivery of promotional items and equipment
- Serving as ambassador representative
- Providing clerical support and available evening and weekends as required
- Provides clerical assistance for the Manager of Public Relations and Marketing by screening phone calls, maintaining mailing lists, handling large mail outs, taking minutes, maintaining files, sorting and prioritizing incoming mail, and reviewing newspapers and magazines for aviation related articles
- Promotes the Airport and the PR Division by acting on behalf of the Manager during her absence
- Creates and maintains marketing files, records, calendars, inventory, databases, logs and other department documents
- Attends trade shows and other promotional events as needed
- Serves as a liaison with other department on basic administrative/logistic activities when coordinating special events or special projects
- Responsible for completing purchase orders and invoices
- Performs other duties as assigned
