Maintenance Repair Worker

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or bona fide GED certificate.
  • 2 Years experience in commercial/industrial maintenance
  • Valid Alabama Driver's License

Basic Functions

Performs semi-skilled work in preventive maintenance, which includes routine repair of industrial, heating, and air conditioning equipment.

Position requires rotating shifts, Hours 6:00am - 2:30 pm & 2:00pm - 10:30pm seven days a week including holidays. Must work every 3rd weekend in each month.

Performs preventive maintenance and services pumps in the heating system by replacing bearings, seals, motors and pumps.

Performs general building maintenance and plumbing by checking lavatories, urinals, commodes and sinks, unstopped clogged drains and plumbing fixtures, repairing flush valves and leaking water lines, adjusting and cleaning water coolers, replacing floor and ceiling tiles and repairing roof leaks.

Performs preventive maintenance and services air handling units by changing air filters, belts, lubricating and assisting in the replacement of bearings, motors, and blowers, pulleys and shafts, checking and calibrating thermostats, and monitoring through the use of a computer.

Maintains electric/hydraulic doors and manual doors by replacing arm switches, motors and control boxes.
